The UnifiedBus™ (UB) community is operated by Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (collectively, "we," "us," or "our"). We understand the importance of your privacy to you and fully respect it. Please read this Privacy Statement (collectively, "Statement") carefully before submitting your personal information to us. If you have any inquiries about our processing of your personal information, please contact us.

1. How We Collect and Process Your Personal Information
If you only browse the general content of the UB community website (collectively, "the website"), we usually do not require you to provide your personal information. However, we collect your personal information in the following cases. You can access the Personal Data Collection Overview to briefly learn about how your personal information is collected and/or used.
(a) Account services

When you register for a UB community account, we will collect your name, enterprise/organization name, enterprise/organization email address, password and enterprise/organization email verification code. A unique account identifier will be automatically generated. Refusal to provide this information will prevent account creation.

When you log in to the UB community using your enterprise/organization email address, we will collect the provided email address and password for authentication. Refusal to provide this information will prevent login.

After logging in, you can optionally provide your avatar and name in the Personal Center. Refusal to provide the information does not affect your use of the UB community features.
(b) UB Specifications Download
When you download the full version of the UnifiedBus™ (UB) Base Specification and UnifiedBus™ (UB) Firmware Specification, your name, enterprise/organization, and enterprise/organization email address will be recorded to facilitate execution of the applicable UB specifications license agreement. In addition, your enterprise/organization email address will be used to generate a watermark embedded in the specifications.
(c) Mail list service: When you subscribe to the mailing list of the website, we collect your user name (optional), enterprise/organization (optional), or email address to provide email subscription services and facilitate your participation in community discussions.
(d) Service optimization: To ensure service quality and smooth community operations, we automatically collect and store your name, enterprise/organization name, enterprise/organization email address, and necessary log information, including access timestamps, IP addresses, request details, access status, resource size, access sources, and user agent information. We also collect your device details (device name/type/vendor, OS type/ version, and screen dimensions), app details (app ID, SDK version, browser type and version, and browser viewport size), and app usage information (event name, event attributes, reporting time, and anonymous client ID). The information is used for community O&M security and operations analysis, so that we can deliver more effective services.
(e) Content Release. When you participate in community sessions, activities, and contributions, we may collect your photo and name offline. We may publish them on the community website to help developers connect and engage with the community easily.
(f) Surveys. When you participate in community surveys, we may collect your name, company/organization, role, and business/organization email address to facilitate further communication and provide you with more tailored community services.
(g) UB vendor ID application. When you submit a UB vendor ID application, we will collect your enterprise information (name, email address, contact address, and official website), enterprise contact person (name, email address, and phone number), enterprise business category, signature, application date, and enterprise seal, for the purpose of application review and subsequent contact with you.
(h) Meeting Service. When you use our meeting service, we will collect your name and email address for configuring related permissions. If you have meeting scheduling permission, we will collect your email address used when you edit the meeting details for the purpose of sending meeting invitations. If you enable automatically screen recording when you schedule a meeting, the recording will be uploaded to our server after the meeting so that more interested individuals and organizations can review your meeting.
(i) Contributor License Agreement ("CLA") Signing. When you give feedback through the Contributor License Agreement ("CLA") signing system (click here to learn more), you need to submit your personal data) to the CLA signing system. We will obtain such personal data to confirm if you have signed the CLA, and to conduct statistical analysis for community operation insights.
2. How We Use Cookies and Similar Technologies
To ensure the normal running of the website, we sometimes store cookies on computers or mobile devices. Please refer to our About Cookies for details about how we use cookies and similar technologies and how they process your personal information.
3. How We Share Your Personal Information
Sharing refers to the process by which we provide personal information to a third party and we and the third party each process the information independently. We will not share your personal information with any third party without your consent, except as otherwise provided in this Statement or under the following circumstances:
(a) We may share your personal information under your explicit consent and within your instruction to the third parties indicated by you.
(b) Sharing your personal information to protect national and public security, and the legitimate rights and interests of yourself or others.
(c) Sharing with affiliated companies. We may share your personal data with our affiliated companies for the purposes of service support or security support.
(d) We may share your information with partners. Such sharing will only be conducted for legitimate, justified, necessary, specific, and explicit purposes and to the minimum extent necessary for providing services. The partners have no rights to use the shared individual information for any other purpose. The partners can have their own privacy statements and user agreements. We recommend that you read and comply with the third-party user agreements and privacy statements.
For more details, please refer to the Information Sharing with Third Parties. If you refuse to allow our partners to collect personal information necessary to provide services, you may be unable to use the services provided through those partners.
When we share your personal information with associated companies or partners, their responsibilities and obligations will be governed by contracts and we will require them to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety of the personal information processed.
4. How Long We Retain Your Personal Information
We retain your personal information for as long as is necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Statement, unless a longer retention period is required by laws or requested by you.
In general, we store or retain your personal information for the retention period from the date we obtain it when you use our community services, in accordance with applicable legal requirements or the terms of the service agreement. If your personal information is beyond the retention period and we are not legally required to continue processing your specific personal information, we will delete or anonymize your personal information in accordance with applicable legal requirements.
For example, upon your active request for the deletion of personal information, the retention period for the relevant data will be one month. We will respond to your request and delete your personal information within this period.
The access timestamp, IP address, request details, access status, resource size, access source, and user agent information collected for service optimization will be automatically deleted after 10 days.
4.1 Deletion
You may log in to the UB community and choose "Account Settings" > "Security" > "Delete" to delete your account. This action will also delete your personal data in the UB community. Exercise caution when performing this operation.
5. How We Protect Your Personal Data
We attach great importance to the security of your personal information. We have adopted physical, organizational, and technical measures to protect your personal information all round. We use technologies such as encryption to ensure information confidentiality; implement protection mechanisms to protect information from attacks; deploy access control mechanisms to ensure that only authorized personnel can access your information; and hold security and privacy protection training. Nevertheless, no security measure is perfect and no product, service, website, data transfer, computing system, or network connection is absolutely secure.
6. How We Access or Control Your Personal Information
You may have the following rights regarding your personal information under applicable laws:
(a) Access the personal information that we hold about you and obtain copies thereof.
(b) Request us to update or correct your personal information.
(c) Request us to delete your personal information.
(d) Object to our processing of your personal information.
(e) Restrict our right to process your personal information.
(f) File a complaint or report a violation to the competent authorities of personal information protection.
Please note that these rights are not absolute and may be restricted under applicable laws. If you need our assistance in exercising these requests or rights, or if you have further requirements or questions, comments, or suggestions on your rights of the data subject, contact us as set out in the "How to Contact Us" section below.
- To provide you with the CLA signing service, we will retain your personal data. The retention period of such data will depend on the specific purpose for which it is used, as well as the stipulations of applicable laws and regulations. You acknowledge and agree that the CLA is a legally binding document signed by you or the corporation you represent, serving as evidence of the permanent rights granted over your contributions. Therefore, if you request the deletion of the data collected for the purpose of signing the CLA (including, but not limited to, your name and email address), we may not be able to fulfill such a request, unless the deletion of such data would not impair the legal validity of the CLA you have signed.
- Any personal information you publicly display on the community website will be stored in the relevant code repository, and historical records will persist even after deletion.
We will respond to your request within one month unless otherwise required by applicable laws and regulations. Please note that your request will be rejected in some circumstances, such as when we cannot verify your identity, or your request exceeds the rights granted by applicable laws. We will inform you in written form of such a rejection and the reasons.
You may change the scope of the personal information that we are allowed to continue to collect from you or withdraw your consent at any time. Your decision to withdraw such consent or authorization, however, shall not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal.
7. Where Your Personal Information Is Stored
Your personal information is stored in the People's Republic of China. None of our service scenarios involve the cross-border transfer of personal information.
8. How This Statement Is Updated
We may update this Statement from time to time according to changes of our services or data processing methods. If we update this Statement, we will publish the latest version on the website, and it will take effect immediately upon its release. You are advised to review this Statement periodically for any changes. If we make changes to this Statement, we will notify you through appropriate channels (such as bulletins and pop-up windows) and obtain your consent.
9. How We Protect Minors
This website, including its content and services, is primarily intended for adults. Individuals under the age of 14 are not allowed to use the services we provide without the consent of their parents or guardians. If we inadvertently collect personal information of an individual under the age of 14 without verified prior consent from the individual's parent or guardian, we will take prompt steps to delete such information.
